In this workshop we will explore several solutions for connecting Ableton Live with Resolume Avenue/Arena for reactive and synchronised AV performances. This is a practical and project-based session so that you can walk away with your own audio-visual liveset template.
We will find out how to send MIDI messages and tempo information from Live to Resolume. We will also send an audio signal and OSC data between the apps.
Some sample content will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own content and MIDI controllers.
Participants should bring (essential):
- Laptop (macOS or Windows)
- Resolume installed
- Ableton installed
TUTOR BIOGRAPHY: Nick Feldman is an AV performer, sound designer and event organiser who also teaches both Ableton Live and Resolume. His most recent AV work has been done under the Villain moniker and he will also be playing at Splice as part of No Signal.
