Print is Power workshop by Aida Wilde

  • Red Gallery 1-3 Rivington Street London, England, EC2A 3DT United Kingdom (map)

First launched in 2013 in Hackney WickEd, Print is Power is a project predominantly based around the medium of print to help bring communities and individuals together to make art that has a message and a voice.

Under the guidance of print-maker and artist Aida Wilde, visitors and participators will have the opportunity to create posters and artworks inspired by the exhibition at the Red Gallery. These could be a direct respond to the exhibition or perhaps a personal view that can be communicated to raise issues for debate.

Individuals will get a chance to create their own protest slogans, which will then be realised into original artworks using various materials that include, stencils, card, sticky back vinyl, news paper, coloured paper, tape, tarpaulin etc...to replicate the spontaneous nature of DIY sign making.

Participant will be able to exhibit finished pieces in the gallery or take work home with them once completed.  (What do you think of this for the ending? not sure what the arrangement with the red gallery is?) can we display the artworks? if not, you can change it accordingly.
