Among the many skills of being a stripper, dance and movement probably come highest. The art of pole dancing has taken on a new meaning in recent years, but often pole-sport tries to distance itself from the world of striptease culture. We think that’s sad, so we propose a day of workshops in pole dance and movement that proudly includes “stripper style” dance moves and routines e.g. booty-shaking, lap-dance routines, sexy and classic pole dance etc.
The workshops will be an opportunity for members of the public to get a taste of pole dancing, to see what it takes to do such a physically intense job, and experience how much fun it is to fly around a pole!
The class promises to be a body positive, LGBTQI friendly space, free from body shaming and competitiveness. All levels of skills and abilities are welcome, same for genders.
The class will be lead by three members of the East London Strippers Collective, who are all experienced at leading pole and dance workshops. Warms ups/downs will be an essential part of the session, but with a seriously fun vibe.
PLEASE NOTE: All attendees will be required to sign a waiver of liability on arrival. Members of the ELSC are fully covered by public liability insurance, however please be aware this is a sport/fitness class and therefore we cannot take responsibility for individuals' well being
