February 2011 - And so, after a hiatus back from adventures in mainland Europe and the land of the rising sun, LE GUN launches itself onto the scene once more with Close Eyes to Exit, an exhibition at Red Gallery in London from 2nd - 18th April. LE GUN have also collaborated with Rough Trade on a night of live bands on 8 April and Branchage for an evening of film and more live music on 15 April.

Published to coincide with the opening of the exhibition, LE GUN 5 is set to grace lavatories, boutiques, bars and bookshelves far and wide, eagerly anticipated following a two-year period since the heralded LE GUN 4.

Alongside work by LE GUN's many weird and wonderful international contributors, the main attraction at Close Eyes to Exit will be The Unknown Room, a bizarre life-size drawing in the 3rd dimension based on the contents of George Melly's briefcase.

Additional highlights include LE GUN artist's own interpretations of the archetypes of the tarot. Original prints are presented alongside prints, books, tee shirts and other items in a shop curated by Le Gun and Material.

Somewhere between art object and pulp fiction, LE GUN 5 is a collage of art by disparate individuals, a freewheeling visual poem punctuated with literary, profound and absurd quotes always sailing on the side of the surreal, exposing the darker recesses of its warped contributor's minds, a celebration of drawing and story telling.

Also launching on April 1st will be issue 6 of Bare Bones. The promiscuous mutant sister of Le Gun, Bare Bones is an independently published paper funded entirely by its contributors. Distributed free it is an outlet for artists and writers to say and do what they like without editorial or commercial pressure. Each issue comes with an exhibition featuring work and ideas from all the contributors, and for the first time, Bare Bones will be printing in color, using recycled tea bags and organically sourced beetroot by product.
